I rented a truck from Budget and returned it within a few hours, no incidents and no problem with the return. When I rented, I paid extra for insurance.

They have to be able to prove it was you driving the truck at the exact time and place the accident occurred. I’d tell them to go kick rocks. Keep in mind their insurance only covers damages to their rented truck, not another vehicle. Not that it should make any difference in this case.

If I got a ticket while my mom was in the car with me, do we still count as uninsured if I’m not on the policy?

I was driving and I got a speeding ticket. I’m from Nashville TN, but I got my ticket in Ohio. The day I got the ticket, the officer didn’t ask me for insurance. Today I got letter saying that I failed to provide proof of insurance and that my license is suspended for three years. The officer didn’t even ask me for it. Anyway, my rant aside, When I got the ticket, I wasn’t on the insurance policy. My mom however, who was with me at the time in the passenger seat, was. So, does it count as uninsured, because the car was insured. Btw, I’m 16.

Ok, at the moment i own a 2007 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi V8. it gets around 12 MPG city and 13.8 MPG highway. I just recently got accepted to NADC in nashville TN. for where i live its around a 6 hour drive one way. So gas to come home to visit family and go back will be absolutly outrageous. And i love having a truck as opposed to a four banger. (4 cyl car) and ive read and heard that a diesel truck, preferably a 2500 dodge, get around 19 MPG city and 24 MPG highway. i know that diesel is a little more expensive, but if i get one of the two small cars ive considered, a honda civic si, or a cobalt ss tc, i know insurance will be higher than with that of a truck. anyone with personal experience with one of these vehicles if u dont mind, please message me at vthokie4me1@yahoo.com on messenger. or leave a post on here. thanks alot.

It seems that you are trying to balance owning a small vehicle with owning a truck. It is a little like the apples and oranges thing.

Most people would own a truck because they need one and can afford to pay the extra expenses associated with a boxy vehicle designed to haul loads. If they need a cheaper vehicle for commuting they might get a smaller vehicle.

It sounds like you don’t want to give up the bigger vehicle. There are cheaper alternatives. I think the Ram is one of the worst vehicles for gas mileage. The Sprinter is much better and it is a diesel. I would suggest you haul down whatever you need and then sell the vehicle or start a hauling business on the weekends to make the vehicle pay for itself.
