I have done a valuation online from What Car?, that gives the market value as £545 (dealer) and £395 (private).

Most will go by market value.. however, the CD player will be considered part of the car and will not be covered separately.

What can I do if somebody hit my car without any insurance?

I had just purchased my van when an idiot backed up and hit the side of my van. He presented insurance papers to the cop and all he got was a ticket for the accident. Now when I went to fix it with his insurance, I find out it’s cancelled. Well now what do I do? I don’t want to fix it myself since it wasn’t my fault. I have full coverage insurance on it, but my deductible is larger than the damage. I have no idea what to do. Help!

CRY! If the damage is less than your deductible, pay for it out of pocket and take the guy to small claims court. You may also want to contact the police department and let the officer who made the report know it was a bogus insurance card.
