Auto flipping, insurance???
Ok, I am wanting to buy an 84′ Dodge, the motor is locked up, so I want to bring it home, get it running, and sell it. I dont have the money for insurance, and she wont be on the road at all, but i dont want it to be a salvage titled vehicle. My Kansas dmv says the only way to get my car, have it on my property without a salvage title, it has to be insured????

If I get insurance, and pay every 6 months, but if I flip it and sell it in under the 6 months, will I have to pay for it? Thanks
Right now it has a regular clean title, I was saying that in order to not pay insurance I would have to transfer it to a salvage, which I dont want to do.
I already have that set up, she will not be driven period, she will be towed from their driveway, to mine.
OK, there’s some confusion here.
You don’t get to pick if it has a salvage title or not. IF it was assigned one, for being a “total loss” from an insurance company, it has a salvage title. All you can do, is transfer ownership to a NEW salvage title, and see what the process is in your state, to get the “salvage” part removed.
Your car does NOT have to be insured. BUT, you cannot sell it, unless you are the legal owner. You cannot drive it, unless it is registered AND INSURED. No one else can drive it, either, or test drive it, unless you buy insurance on it.
In order to make you the legal owner, once you buy this, you have to go to the DMV with the title that the seller gives you, and have it RETITLED to your name. Voila, now it’s legally yours, and you can sell it if you want.
Six months is irrelevant. If you WANT tags, or to drive it, you HAVE to buy insurance. If you cancel the insurance early, you get some money back.
And I think you’re misunderstanding what a salvage title is.
