Im 16 soon to be 17 is a Renault Clio a good first car?

Ive been looking around and you can pick up a nice black 3dr 1.2 with aircon for £3000. Anyone else got a clio like that? Also what will the insurance be like? Around £2000??? I dont like boring VW polo’s or all that korean shit like kia. Maybe a corsa sxi or summat like that???

Ideal first cars! The 1.2 petrol engine is a good “long laster” engine with hardly anything that will go wrong!

Being a 1.2, its not going to be the most expensive car to insure either. Perhaps bordering £2800 for insurance. But you can get extra £50 saving discounts with people like ’swinton’ on moneysupermarket.

£3000 is a rather steep one seeing as I see them on the Auto trader website selling for under £1000 too.

As for the Vauxhall Corsa, very neat tidy cars. However the SXi is the sport model and I would expect insurance costs to bump up (even with something as minor as the trim level.)
