Should I report a car dent on my car to my insurance then get it fixed or just go to a body shop?

The dent is on the driver side of a 2006 Honda Civic EX over the rear tire. Should I report this to my insurance company then get it fixed or just take it stright to a body shop? Looks like it was slightly dented in with a shopping cart while i was at the store, not to bad but noticeable with the smoothness of that part of the car’s body frame. Which was is cheaper or better for me as a owner, car was purchased in July brand new off the lot of this year.

The dent you’re describing would have to be pretty epic to make going to your insurer worth it. Since you said “slightly dented with a shopping cart” it sounds minor enough that you’re deductible is likely high enough that you would pay for the whole thing anyway. I wouldn’t give the insurer an excuse to raise your premiums, just get it done yourself.

On Thursday i hit my ex boyfriend car accidentally (i was backing up not looking while on the phone) but he was parked in front of a dumpster like a jackass. i didn’t do any damage to it but it was already damage done to it so he said he was going to call the police so he could make a claim. his girlfriend came out because the car is in her name. the police came out and said that i chipped paint off his car when i asked the police how do you hit a person car hard enough for the paint to come off but its none on mine he just humped his shoulders and make a report, gave me 2 tickets for improper backing and wrong address on my license. They got none. Well this morning i found out that they have pip and their policy lapsed. What can i do? Wasn’t any damage done and i have witnesses saying they chipped paint by hand off his car.

So, ill be finishing my degree this year in Canada. I am interested in UNLV’s program of “gaming management” casinos have always interested me, and I am currently in a Business degree program here in Canada. I am in the Hotel program at UNLV!!! Our gaming program is great. Theres a casino lan on campus. Don;t let people tell you the area is not safe that is a bunch of bull. I do have some out of country friends so i’ll ask about the visa and get back to you on that. Car insurance you jist look around for the best deal and pick the cheapest for the most coverage. Theres lots of places to choose from. Henderson and Summerlin are ok, but it’s up to you. Like i said it is not a bad area around campus. A big misconception. Hope you get in.
