why aren’t more people realizing Obama’s stupid comments in his healthcare speech?
he made a lot of illogical analogies and contradictions
1. he said, “under my plan, individuals would be required to carry basic health insurance ‘just like most states require you to carry auto insurance’” States are allowed to require people (who drive) to carry auto ins. The Federal government isn’t allowed to require you to buy anything.
2 He compared the public option to the competition with public colleges. There are no Federal public colleges except military academy’s. I’d like to see a liberal student try dressing the way they want waving around a piece sign there. They’d get kicked out.
3. he said, ‘nothing in my plan requires you to change the plan you have’ but minuts later he says, ‘ individuals would be required to have health insurance or be fined’ that sure sounds like a requirement to me.
4. he said “the reforms I propose would not apply to those here illegally” then what are health providers suppose to do when a illegal gets sick? let them suffer and die?
Though I won’t get into the political discussion with you, I can answer your basic question…
People are blinded by charisma, and if there’s one thing Obama has, it’s charisma. While I didn’t watch the speech, i heard that it was done very well (At least according to how he held himself). Charisma alone can get you to high places. People wonder how Hitler got into such high power, it was because of his charisma.
That said, people are also willing to believe ridiculous things, and are very easily swayed by the promise of good things. People don’t want to hear about how bad something may be (So long as it’s affecting them), so if they hear good things, no matter if they’re lies or not, people will “Oooooo” and “Ahhhhh”, and want to believe it.
…So they do.
