AUTO AUCTION QUESTION..?

I am attending an auto auction on monday and am traveling 4 hours from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. Other then the insurance, what I know probably can not be put on until the following morning, how do you register to the car without having to go back for it? Is this possible? Or am I going to have to go back anyway?

Do auto auctions give you some kind of temporary registration to get the car home??

No registration, but they will give you the bill of sale and the title if it is there.

broker direct car insurance

broker direct car insurance
Why am I paying insurance on a car that is written off?

I pay my car insurance via monthly direct debit and my policy started in march 2007.

My car was written off in June 2007.

I have just received my settlement cheque and the broker has taken £280 out of it to settle my outstanding premium to March 2008.
Is this usual practise?
Why am I paying insurance on a car I don’t even possess?
Aren’t I entitled to a rebate and, if so, how do i go about this?
I’m in the UK.
Fully comp with protected NCB.
My car was vandalised.

Hi I know where you are coming from because I have been there. However the broker is correct.
When you took out your insurance you agreed to pay the full fee for the year to cover your car against damage or loss ( in the event of loss the policy ends (see your terms and conditions).
The insurance company has then let you pay for the insurance on credit ie monthly payments. (you dont pay for each individual month but for the full year).
The insurance company has kept to there contract and have paid out for your car and the policy has now ended so they have then taken the rest of the owed fee from your pay out and will stop the monthly paymentsIts the same as buying a holiday on a credit card, taking the holiday and then refusing to pay the credit card bill because you have had your holiday.
Kind regards Technical

car insurance breakdown cover

car insurance breakdown cover
Car or Motorbike costs? I am considering the pros and cons.?

Help me decide. I was considering using a bike to get to work instead of the car, but am unsure of the total costs? is it that much cheaper than a car? considering tires, fuel, insurance, tax, breakdown cover, and the like, any help on the subject would be gratefully received, although I would prefer answers from people that have done both please, I can contemplate too, and don’t care for stupid thoughts from people without a clue.
I Quick addition…

I sold my last bike last October, and was considering a CBR600 F, Triumph Sprint ST, VFR800 Vtec, or a Fazer1000 for the use of commuting to work. additional info would be cool

It depends on the motorbike and car you are comparing. I have a Honda ST1100 and it does 30mpg, my car Mondeo does 32 mpg! Cost wise the bike costs roughly the same to service as the car, so do tires and insurance.

The bike is always quicker to get about, far more fun and I can nip through traffic and past queues. That said without doubt I am more vulnerable and if I were in an accident it would hurt more on the bike.

To me it comes down to the weather, on a nice sunny day the bike wins every time, on a frosty or rainy day the car wins every time.

The decision is entirely personal choice but cost wise it totally depends on which bike you are comparing to which car.
