car insurance jeep wrangler
1997 Jeep Wrangler totalled b/c of value to damage amount ratio can i still get it fixed?

Jeep had never been wrecked b/4..damage on driver’s rear corner..needs side panel and back corner piece replaced..rear door won’t open b/c back corner piece pushed into it..otherwise no other body damage..estimate for repair work from body shop..5600.oo and insurance co. valued car at 7500.00 ..i bought it back from insurance company for 1800.00 but they say it is totaled b/c of the damage amount to car value amount..help..i want the car fixed but have been told body shops wont touch it now..i live in memphis tn

It’s possible, the main factor is the frame. If it’s bent it can be straightened. Other issues may include possible damage to the suspension components, axle and so on. The body damage can be repaired or covered in full length corner guards.

Without knowing more information about the full extent of the damages all anyone can do is guess at what it will take to repair it or if it is even repairable.

A couple of other options may be to buy another Wrangler if you can fine one with mechanical issues that’s being sold cheaply and swap the engine and components over.

If nothing else you have well over $1800 in parts on the Jeep.

I drive, you drive, we all drive but none of us should drive around on today’s busy, overcrowded and frantic concrete jungles with owning the iDrive. You have probably seen a lot of video recorders for your car that have a million functions and they probably cost hundreds of dollars, so we decided that we needed to provide a digital video recorder for someone who doesn’t have the budget of a Hilto…

No matter what exactly are we planning to buy, all of us have a tendency to discover the cheapest possible solution for our requirements. So, the very same applies to purchase Automobile Insurance.

car insurance regulatory body

Accident in Canada – no fault insurance – what right do I have… (Canadians – 10 points)?

to demand a new part? Someone rearended me while my car was parked – not my fault. However in my province we have no-fault insurance. So while I won’t be penalized whatsoever I think ultimately my insurer is footing the bill for repairs on my car.

My question is, I got my assessment done today and was told that because my car is “older than 2 years” that I will be getting a used part instead of a brand-new from the dealer part.
Am I allowed to demand a new part be put on my vehicle? I’m not worried about the cost, after all I did not cause the damage.
And, is there a regulatory body in Canada I could call regarding this issue?

10 points to BA
The insurer acknowledged I would not be penalized.

You don’t say which province you are in and the rules vary from one province to the next. Go to your local automobile association (better yet, join it) and ask them. I understand that if they are prepared to put a used part on your vehicle and you upgrade to a new part, you are responsible for the difference in cost.

car insurance ibiza

car insurance ibiza
which car celica or ibiza? UK?

im looking for a sportyish car for around £3 -4.5k £5k MAX.
ive settle on a 99-06 celica (140) or ibiza fr 1.8T 20V 150bhp (pretty much same a golf gti but 2 insurance groups lower).
i went for test drie in celica today really liked it- fact that is a coupe-really low to ground v.comfotable etc.(turned out it had a problem so wont be getting that one).

so which should i choose?
tricky – can get insured on any of the cars u mentioned in cluding T sport, insurance group 13 is the max. (difference between 13 and 14 group is lk £1000)

also when i test drove toyota i didnt think it was boring at all, i would have thought i would be more fun than a hatchback. dont know thou not tested ibiza, im struggling to find 1 in my area and price range, but theres loads of celicas about so will probably end up with one of those.

good decision?

Both are nice cars so as you said take both for a run to see which one you like best.
Celica wise could you stretch for the t-sport version that extra bhp would be helpful.
Also look at the civic type r,and the integra dc2 type r.
Money wise UK you are touching on some nice cars, like the
R32 Skyline gts-t and even a GTR,R33 GTS-T,
also a Nissan 300zx,
Pulsar gti-r,
Nissan 200sx s13 s13 s14a,
Mitsubishi Evo and FTO
GTO/3000gt
Mazda RX7
Toyota Supra MK4
MR2
All this depends on your insurance but as with any lower bhp car will it last you before you get bored.
Just a few thoughts as even with some of those cars being older many have come as imports with lower mileage than you can get a UK car for.
