Importance of Commercial Auto Insurance and Its Types

Auto insurance is very important for your vehicle. Then be it your personal vehicle or the ones that you use for some business purpose. If you are involved in a business that needs commercial use of vehicles, then you must get your commercial auto insurance as it provides you with the much needed security of your vehicles for your business. The commercial auto insurance policy includes both the liability coverage as well as the bodily injury coverage. Mostly the commercial vehicles are the trucks, vans, busses and cars. There are various types of commercial auto insurance policies available.

Let us first discuss about the Business coverage. This policy provides coverage to the personal travelers and commercial vehicles that are somehow involved in any kind of business. Auto dealers, cargo companies and auto service companies are not eligible for this type of insurance. Second is the Personal or the Primary coverage. It offers you the primary coverage giving you protection against any legal responsibilities, protection costs, etc. it also includes bodily injury protection but is different from a personal auto insurance policy.

Third type of commercial auto coverage is the Comprehensive or Collision coverage. This coverage policy protects you against some defined threats for which there are certain reasons responsible for the losses. It offers you protection against repair, replace, restore or compensate costs related to the auto. The fourth one is the Garage coverage. The business coverage does not include the auto dealers but they are covered under the garage coverage. This type of insurance policy includes insurance cover for garage keepers, bodily injury and liability coverage. The fifth and the last one is the Trucker’s coverage. According to the Motor Carrier Act given by the government, the truck owners are required to give confirmation to the state to convene financial requirements as the owners of the trucks will be held responsible for any losses during the transport. To save the truck owners from this, the auto insurance agencies offer the truck owners the Trucker’s coverage policy under which the bodily injury and the trailer replacement insurance are also covered besides the basic liability coverage.

Regardless of the type of insurance u choose for your auto, the auto insurance cover is very important for the security of your vehicle. In fact, in certain states the government bodies have made auto insurance coverage compulsory.

How can I become a claims adjuster without a college degree?

I have worked within the auto insurance industry (entry-level underwriter). I currently work in the health field (collections). I have always had a interest in being a claims adjuster in the auto or health insurance area. My problem is I don’t have a degree.I have applied numerous times for claims adjuster trainee positions but never get a call back due to not having a degree. I know people who are claims adjuster with no degree, but most of their training has been on the job. Unfortunately I have not found a company that does this. The companies I see that allows you to apply without a degree require experience in claims adjusting. How can I have experience in something I never done before.

20 years ago – you could get hired as an adjuster with out a college degree. Those folks can continue to get jobs as adjusters because of their experience.

The only other way I know to do it is if you have profession experience that transfer over. Where you see this is with insurance appraisers. Usually these are body shop managers that the insurance company hires to write estimates on vehicles for them. A lot of these guys don’t have a 4 year college degree, but their years of owning, running or working in a body shop makes them experts in their field.

As you are finding out, these days a 4 year college degree is pretty much a standard requirement. The company I work for won’t even talk to you if you don’t have a 4 year degree. Up until 2 years ago – they would hire a claims processor with no college degree– but that has even changed. There are just too many college grads looking for jobs. So the companies can make that a requirement.

Some companies will accept a 2 year degree instead of a 4 year. But that’s becoming more rare.

The only thing I can think to tell you to do — is to consider a 2 year degree.

Or – adjusters do work toward professional designations. The Associate in Claims is one. The CPU is the big one. If you got one or both of those designations that could help. But even then– I don’t know that it would increase your chances.

And most states have a licensing requirement. You could study and sit for the exam. But that does not insure a company will hire you. If a college degree is a requirement – already having the license will help– but I don’t know if its enough to overcome not having a degree.

Sorry, I know it’s not what you wanted to hear.

Good Luck.

car insurance rip offs

car insurance rip offs
should we here in the uk abolish road tax / insurance?

when i say abolish , lets look at alternate ways to pay these over the top prices, i do not mean actually get rid of insurance either but come up with better and more affordable ways of paying these .
young drivers in a number of cases are having to pay more for their insurance than the value of the vehicle they are trying to buy, and a lot of them need a car so end up with a car with no insurance this does seem very unfair on them, and forces our premiums up at the same time, either way everyone loses.
in the case of road tax this is beginning to be one of the biggest rip offs for motorists and is supposed to help pay towards the costs of road repairs, if this is the case what happens to the money from speeding / parking fines etc, and the roads are a mess, what do you think

Road Tax and Insurance should be scrapped and the cost put onto the price of fuel. Doing it this way not only means everyone is paying but also ensures those people with gas guzzlers are paying more for the privilege.

compare car insurance ontario

compare car insurance ontario
How much do you pay for Manitoba car insurance?

How much would an 18 year old male pay for car insurance? If you are that age or around there please tell me your age and what car you drive. I was interested in comparing w/ Manitoba because I live in Ontario and apparently my dad told me its 1000-1500 dollars a year!

A couple of stupid answers spamming quote sites useless in Manitoba.
I hope you realize that, living in Ontario, you cannot register and insure a car in Manitoba, but you can still compare the rates. Go to this site. It is the only site that will give quotes for Manitoba.
If you get confused about territories or use definitions, contact me through my profile.
