i got a speeding ticket in california and i am unemployed?

I have been unemployed for two years and i cant pay my ticket. i live in riverside and the court i need to appear at is in moreno valley i don’t know if i will even have enough gas to get there. How much does speeding ticket fines start at in california? I know my insurance will go up and i think that this ticket my ruin me the rest of the way. I have been bumming money a few dollars at a time from family so i can keep my car running and look for work. I also spend a lot of time applying online. i keep trying and not getting anywhere. i am getting very desperate and don’t know what to do. I am trying to resist the idea of doing something very bad to get some money and i am starting to wonder if the risk of getting caught might be worth it. Can somebody help me figure this out?

Well, if the courts in Riverside County work similarly to those next door in San Bernardino County, you can do what my nephew does and make arrangements with the court for Community Service. Of course, he always ignores what he owes the court until its past due and they issue a 166 FTP (Failure To Pay) warrant in his name, gets arrested, gets the warrant suspended and then appears in court where they kindly give him more Community Service (he has the worse driving skills). He usually spends at least one night in jail. To avoid all the problems of my idiot nephew, call the court as soon as possible, have your ticket handy so they can look it up in their records and beg for some relief.

btw, the fine depends on how many mph over the posted limit you were going. It gets expensive very quickly because besides the fine for speeding they usually tack on administrative court costs.
