motor insurance s later saying it had been canceled 5 months a go?

the ins was for £438 payed £376 the letter that came to day said effective date of cancellation was 5 months ago so really have been driving with no insurance? when i rang them thay said it has not been canceled but states on letter it has i said i did not cancell she said it was cancelled 1 month ago but no letter of cancelation from me the manager said he will look into it and he will ring back to day but did not do am i in the right to get all my money back and dont no what to do next can some one help please they also trying to charge me £20 for cancellation uk only plz

You don’t get “all your money back”, and you DO get charged a cancellation fee, assuming the policy cancelled for nonpayment. You have a responsibility to expect to RECEIVE the bill every month, and pay it, OR pay it in full for a year.

Does Safe Auto insurance cost more since they don’t check credit?

I just saw a commercial for Safe Auto & they said they don’t check credit. Do most other insurance companies check it? And does that make Safe Auto’s rates higher? Basically, I need liability insurance and as cheap as possible. I don’t have a bad driving record but my credit isn’t good.

Safe Auto is high risk insurance, that is the reason they state they don’t check credit, since most people who buy it, cant buy from a big name auto insurance company due to their credit, driving record of tickets, or multiple accidents in the past.

Your best bet is to get multiple quotes from at least 3 companies. I suggest you call a agent and discuss and they will give you their suggestions. Also, with any high risk auto, most only have minimum limits only, so if you have any assets, you need more than the minimum to protect you.

As a general rule, any accidents/tickets etc will stay on your record for 3 years and if as you state you driving record is good, I suggest you try some of the other companies even with bad credit, since the rates they will charge will most likely be cheaper than Safe Auto.
