Car shipping companies? HELP!!!!!?

Do anyone know a good car shipping company with a reasonable price and have good insurance coverages? I want a car shipped from Atlanta, Georgia to me (San Francisco, CA) Can anyone recommend some good shippers??

Getting a friend or relative (or yourself) to drive it is a good idea, but you have to have some really nice friends or relatives! That’s quite a drive!

I know that uShip can be really good for this, and you might be able to get it done a little cheaper. You can also read feedback kinda like on eBay to check them out and find someone you’re comfortable with, and you can read stories from other shippers at http://www.uship.com/community/stories_directory_page/uShip/Vehicles/. Most haulers have insurance information, too.

How do I notify my auto insurance company that I’m cancelling my policy?

I just switched from Progressive to Geico (and saved almost $1200 per year!) How and when do I notify Progressive that I’m cancelling my policy with them? (My coverage with Progressive ends March 4th, and my coverage with Geico starts on March 3rd). I’ve heard that I must notify Progressive in writing; does Geico provide some sort of form or document to give the old company or do I have to actually type out a letter to Progressive?

Call Progressive, inform them that you are switching insurance carriers, and they will probably ask you to send a copy (possibly by fax) to them. If you don’t they will contact the state DMV and say you don’t have insurance, which will then cause you to lose registration on your vehicle.

is she paying to much for auto insurance?

my aunt is 35 got a license a year ago has no accidents and she
pays 200$ a month for minimum coverage for a 1999 Plymouth
breeze. this is in new york….it’s some local insurance company oh she has no credit..?

Answer from a General Insurance Agent

Your Aunt is considered a “high risk” driver due to no credit, and no driving history.

She needs to try some other smaller companies. Shop around. A non standard auto insurance carrier will offer her the best rate. there are many non-standard companies that do not even use credit scoring in their premium rate tables, The coverage will not be as extensive as a larger national company but at least it will be affordable, likely about 78 to 98 dollars a month for minimum liability from your aunts description barring any tickets or accident on her current driving record.

All the larger national companies will use her credit score in determining her premium and require at least 3 years, usually 5 years driving history. When they find out she has little or no driving history they will just tell her that she does not meet the requirements for their program due to being a high risk driver. thats just a waste of her time.

You aunt should also consider taking an approved Drivers training or drivers education course. this could save her up to 20 percent on her premium.

Some Insurers are also offering up to 5 percent discount for policy holders who pay their premium by EFT or automatic debit. Just something else to consider.

After having a non standard auto policy for a couple years with no lapses and a decent driving record for say 3 years, your aunt should then have no problem getting good insurance at affordable rates from a Standard company.
