auto insurance claims tips
Auto insurance in Canada?
I am an Australian citizen who currently has a full G Ontario licence. I am now looking to purchase a car and auto insurance. What are my cheapest options? I have been driving 10 years with no claims. Should i purchase a car and insurance in Ontario or would it be cheaper in another provice? Can i purchase, registar and insure a car in the U.S.A with an Ontario license as i plan to travel through the states shortly anyway before returning to Canada. Does anyone know the costs i should be expecting? Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated.
If you were to purchase and insure a vehicle outside of Ontario you would have 30 days once that vehicle enters Ontario to register, plate and insure the vehicle in Ontario. Do you have an experience letter from your insurer in Australia? Some insurers in Ontario will recognize experience from Australia (some won’t). Without this proof of experience you will be treated as a new driver regardless of which province/state you try and purchase insurance in.
